What are the benefits of a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk?
Toddlers have increased nutrition needs as they go through rapid growth and energy requirements. a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink is designed to provide nutritional support where needed alongside a healthy, varied diet.

Switching to cow's milk
Some toddlers might be ready to switch straight to a2 Milk®, but others may benefit from the additional nutrition offered by a toddler milk drink.
Iron rich
Growing kids need iron to support growth and development, and also cognitive function and immunity. One serving of a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink provides approximately 30% of the recommended daily intake for iron, for children aged 1–3 years, based on the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Supporting changing palates
As your little one shows more of their personality, they’ll also express their likes and dislikes. While a varied diet should deliver most of the child’s nutrition, a toddler milk drink can help bridge gaps for picky eaters.
When and how do you transition your child to stage 3?
Switching to a stage 3 toddler milk drink happens at about the one year mark. Before making the change, we recommend consulting with your healthcare professional for personalised advice.
The recommended period of transition is often over the course of about one to two weeks. A gradual introduction can help your toddler become accustomed to the new formula without upsetting their tummy.
The transition will take place whilst your toddler continues to eat their usual solid foods.
Introduce Gradually
Start by slowly introducing serves of the a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink while still primarily following your current feeding routine. For example, you can begin by replacing one serve per day with the toddler milk drink.
Gradually Increase
Over the course of several days or weeks, gradually increase the number of toddler milk drink serves while decreasing the amount of your current product. The recommended number of serves is 4 per day.
Observe for tolerance
During the transition, closely monitor your child for any signs of digestive discomfort, allergies, or intolerances. Keep an eye on their stool consistency, behaviour, mood and overall well-being. If you notice any concerning symptoms, consult with your healthcare professional for further guidance.
Complete transition
Once your toddler has adjusted to the a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink and is tolerating it well, you can fully transition by exclusively using the toddler milk drink and discontinuing the stage 2 follow-on formula.

FAQs
Should I mix toddler milk drink with a2 Milk® instead of water?
It is important to follow the directions for use. Always mix 2 scoops of powder with 50mL drinking water. Mixing the powder with milk is not recommended. If you have concerns about your toddler's nutrition, call our a2™ Careline to speak with an Accredited Practising Dietitian or speak with your child's healthcare professional.
Should my toddler drink from a bottle or a cup?
Transitioning to a cup is an important milestone. Introduce a cup between 6 and 12 months, gradually replacing bottle feeds. By one year most children have the coordination to handle a cup. Choose a sippy, straw or open cup that suits your child's stage.
How long does the powder last once opened?
An opened can remains safe for four weeks when stored in a cool, dry place with the lid closed. Discard any unused powder after that time. Keep the scoop dry; wash and dry it thoroughly if it becomes wet.
When should I transition from Stage 2 to Stage 3?
Most toddlers move to Stage 3 around their first birthday. Consult your healthcare professional for individual advice and transition gradually over one to two weeks.
How much toddler milk drink should my child have per day?
The recommended intake is four serves per day (4 scoops + 100mL water per serve), providing 16 – 50% of the recommended dietary intake (RDI) for 16 essential vitamins and minerals, for children aged 1-3 years based on the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Solid foods should remain the primary source of nutrition from 12 months onward.
What are the benefits of a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink?

Why have you updated the a2 Platinum® range?
At The a2 Milk Company, we are committed to continuously improving our products to support the nutritional needs of formula-fed infants and young children. As part of this commitment, we have updated the a2 Platinum® range with an updated formulation and refreshed packaging.
How do I transition to the updated a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink formulation?
For toddlers over 1 year, begin the transition with a daytime serve to allow for better monitoring. Start with the new milk drink in the morning, while keeping the familiar milk drink/s in the afternoon or night.
Observe your child's adjustment for 3-5 days. If they adapt well, you can transition fully to the formulation.
When moving to the updated a2 Platinum® range, it’s important to note that the serving guide has been updated and the scoop to water ratio is now 2 scoops to 50mL of water. This change ensures your child continues to receive the nutrition intended for their age when the formula is prepared according to the updated serving guide. To support a smooth transition, always use the scoop provided in the current can and follow the feeding guide and directions for use printed on the can.
If you would like further support with the transition, please contact our a2™ Careline, staffed by Accredited Practising Dietitians on 1800 22 46 32 or contact us here.
What are the updates to the packaging?
Our updated a2 Platinum® range now features a premium straight-wall tin, updated artwork and now includes the scoop in the lid for convenience. Additionally, our 800g can now features 3 QR code traceability. You will find QR code on the base of the can, on top of the foil and on the underside of the foil.
